Do you ever think about how Far Cry —yeah, the series with dictator bosses and homemade flamethrowers—actually started off as a tech demo with aliens and mutants? No joke. The original Far Cry (2004) wasn’t even made by Ubisoft. It was a Crytek project meant to show off their CryEngine tech, and somehow, that weird sci-fi jungle shooter evolved into one of the most influential open-world FPS franchises in gaming.
